Lately I've noticed there have been a lot of Hallelujah vids made. My favorite is still [livejournal.com profile] butterfly's Wesley vid (from Angel), a Jeff Buckley's version of Hallelujah. Butterfly's vid

I've enjoyed the two SGA Hallelujah vids,

1. [livejournal.com profile] mamoru22 Mamoru's version

2. [livejournal.com profile] z_rayne Zoe Rayne's version

I've been reading people's reactions to the vids and I'm wondering, am I missing something?

Because I get the sense that people are really feeling something from watching these two vids that I'm completly missing, and that bugs me. I've even looked up the lyrics and I'm just not feeling it the way other people describe. :(

That's not to say I didn't enjoy the vids because I did, but that emotional connection...is kind of missing, and I want to feel it.

The exception is the Wesley vid and I'm not sure why this vid touched me in a way that the other two haven't, because I love Rodney McKay, not sure if I love him as much as I love Wesley (I mean I've been with Wesley since he first showed up on Buffy, a stuffed up prig, all the way till the end when he actually can kick ass with the best of them) so maybe that's what it is...

I think maybe the difference is that Wesley's story arch has a lot more depth than Rodney's, so far? And maybe that history helped me get more of a connection when I saw the vid. I cried a few times watching Angel, and I've not shed a single tear watching SGA.

It may also be that I really like the Jeff Buckley's version of the song better?

I've watched both vids a couple of times trying to see what other people are seeing...maybe its one of those things you either feel or don't feel. I hope someday to see what other people are getting out of the two SGA vids.

I finally finished watching all 76 episodes of Hikaru no Go. I took a year off from watching the series with only ten episodes left and I'd forgotten how slashy this series is. :) I love this show so much and it's kind of bad because I like all the dramatic music and the face shots, and really I shouldn't love it as much but I do. It reminds me of the anime Hana Yori Dango, I loved the violin it just made so funny but I couldn't stop watching that show either.

Anyway, I'm glad I finished the series and they didn't drag it out like they did with Inu Yasha and some other good shows.
